Description
A 5-LO inhibitor (IC50 = 15 nM); selective for 5-LO over 12-LO and 15-LO (IC50s = 500 and 300 nM, respectively); inhibits A23187-induced 5-LO product formation in isolated human PMNs, monocytes, and whole blood (IC50s = 0.5, 0.45, and 1.5 µM, respectively); increases survival in a mouse model of PAF-induced lethal shock at 3.5 mg/kg; reduces pleural levels of LTB4 in a rat model of carrageenan-induced pleurisy
