Description
A polyphenol flavonoid dimer with diverse biological activities; inhibits Aβ42 aggregation (IC50 = 3.54 μM); destabilizes preformed Aβ42 fibrils (EC50 = 5.12 μM); reduces oxidation of linoleic acid and scavenges DPPH free radicals in cell free assays at 1 mM; inhibits hydrogen peroxide-induced production of iNOS and apoptosis in primary murine chondrocytes; reduces chondrocyte apoptosis, pseudocapsule thickness, and the frequency of ectopic cartilage formation in a mouse model of surgically induced osteoarthritis at 0.01 mg/kg
