Description
A calcium-like peptide; binds to calmodulin (Kd = 88 µM); activates phosphodiesterase in the presence of calmodulin; acts as a calcium channel blocker; inhibits calcium influx through glutamate receptor channels in cultured rat neocortical neurons and inhibits excitatory cytotoxicity (IC50 = 52.48 µM) and apoptosis (IC50 = 44.78 µM); prevents increases in lung alveolar inflammatory cells after six hours in sensitized guinea pigs challenged with ovalbumin in an allergic asthma model (1 mg/kg)
