Description
Our Anti-Rab 9 chicken recombinant primary antibody from Aves Labs is produced in-house from hybridoma clone Clone 9. It detects human, mouse, rat, dog, bovine, hamster, and non-human primate Rab 9, and is purified by affinity chromatography. It is great for use in WB, IHC, ICC, IP. - Rab9 is a small GTP-binding protein of the Rab family that regulates late endosomal trafficking. It is primarily involved in the transport of mannose-6-phosphate receptor-containing vesicles from late endosomes back to the trans-Golgi network, a pathway critical for proper lysosomal enzyme sorting and recycling. Like other Rab proteins, Rab9 functions as a molecular switch, cycling between an active GTP-bound state and an inactive GDP-bound state, with its activity controlled by guanine nucleotide exchange factors (GEFs) and GTPase-activating proteins (GAPs). Rab9-mediated trafficking ensures the steady-state distribution of cation-dependent and cation-independent mannose-6-phosphate receptors and contributes to lysosomal homeostasis. Dysregulation of Rab9 function has been linked to impaired lysosomal degradation, altered receptor recycling, and has emerging associations with cancer progression, viral infection, and lysosomal storage disorders. -
