Description
Our Anti-KCC2 mouse monoclonal primary antibody from NeuroMab is produced in-house from hybridoma clone N1/12. It detects human, mouse, rat, and zebrafish KCC2, and is purified by Protein A chromatography. It is great for use in IHC, ICC. - KCC2 or Potassium-chloride transporter member 5 is a member of the chloride potassium symporter family. KCC2 is a neuron-specific membrane protein encoded by the SLC12A5 gene in humans. The protein colocalizes with GABAA receptors and has for function to mediates electroneutral potassium-chloride cotransport in mature neurons to mainatin the Cl- homeostasis. KCC2 is widely expressed throughout the central nervous system, especially the hippocampus, hypothalamus, brainstem, and motoneurons of the ventral spinal cord. KCC2 is a neuronal marker that is often used to measure post-synaptic inhibition through GABAA receptors. -
