Description
An oligosaccharide ester with antidepressant- and anxiolytic-like activities; prevents increases in serum cortisol levels, serum SOD activity, and brain MAO-A and MAO-B levels, as well as decreases serum MDA levels, in a rat model of chronic mild stress; increases sucrose consumption in the sucrose preference test, indicating antidepressant-like activity, in the same model at 20 mg/kg; increases the number of entries into and percentage of time spent in the open arms of the elevated plus maze in mice, indicating anxiolytic-like activity, from 3 to 12 mg/kg
