Desmosteryl palmitate is an ester form of desmosterol (24-dehydro cholesterol; Item No. 14943), a precursor in the biosynthesis of cholesterol (Item No. 9003100) that is converted to cholesterol by ∆24-dehydro cholesterol reductase (DHCR24).{26100}
